HEA alumni took to the hardwood this past weekend in the first rounds of both the 7th grade and 9th grade Massachusetts AAU State Tournament.  Teams fought hard in what proved to be an exciting weekend in both age groups.  Teams were competing for a chance to advance to the Final Four in May, and a trip to AAU Nationals.

Take a look out how each of our alumni and their teams played over the weekend.

Jordan Galloway – 5’8″, Guard, BABC – Galloway and the 8th grade BABC team played up a grade level and competed in the 15U bracket.  Once advancing into bracket play, BABC cruised in a 69-27 first round win over Fidelity House to advance to the quarterfinals.  BABC ran into a tough Boston Warriors team dropping a hard fought game by the score of 66-55.  Look for BABC to bounce back and come ready for the 8th grade tournament that will take place May 3-May 5 on the campus of Brandeis University.

Martin Mann – 6’4″, Forward, BABC – Martin provides a solid rebounding presence of the bench for this BABC squad.  Mann continues to get stronger and more athletic, allowing him to finish consistently in the post and guard stronger post players.

Kani Glover – 5’6″, Guard, Team DEMI – Glover and Team DEMI took part in what resulted in an upset filled weekend.  After wining the opening game against MABC, Glover and his team could not avoid the upset bug, falling to a hungry Greater Boston Lions team in pool play.  Team DEMI was able to regroup in bracket play, beating MYCW and Lawrence Boys and Girls Club on their way to the 13U final four.  Team DEMI will open up with a resilient Bay State Jaguars club the weekend of May 18th in search of an AAU state title.
