This past weekend, some of the top teams in New England traveled to Connecticut for the 2013 Basketbull Hall of Fame New England Championships. Many of our Elite Week alumni participated in the event.
Lets checkout how each of our alumni played over the weekend.
Chandler Jones – 6’3″, Guard, Expressions Elite – Jones and his Expressions Elite 15U squad played up a grade level at the HOF NE Championships. Jones helped lead his team to an impressive run over the weekend, eventually dropping a close one in the 16U quarterfinals to Metro Boston. Jones brings a ton of versatility to the Expressions Elite lineup with his ability to play on the wing as well as the post.
Jake Midura – 6’2″, Guard, Expressions Elite – Midura is a talented guard out of Chicopee, MA. Like his running mate Jones, Midura played a role in helping his young Expressions Elite 15U squad make a run to the quarterfinals. Look for Midura to contribute valuable minutes to his squad over the spring and summer.
Kendall Baldwin – 5’11”, Guard, Hoop City – Baldwin was also playing up in the 16U bracket for his Hoop City squad out of Springfield, MA. Although his squad went 1-2 on the weekend, Baldwin gained valuable experience playing against older competition.
Tomas Murphy – 6’6″, Forward, ECE-Mass – After receiving a first round bye out of pool play, Murphy and a talented ECE-Mass 15U squad earned a decisive second round win over the New Jersey Gym Ratz. Murphy and company eventually lost in the quarterfinals to a very talented Shooting Stars team. Only an 8th grader, Murphy was yet another Elite Week alumni playing up a grade level.
Kani Glover – 5’6″, Guard, Team DEMI – Glover and his DEMI squad have started off the AAU season at a torrid pace. Having swept through the AAU Super Regionals, Team DEMI took its uptempo style of play out to the HOF NE Championships. DEMI advanced to the championship game, but came up short to a extremely talented Shooting Starts 13U team. Throughout the weekend, Glover displayed his ability to knock down shots with range.
