After what proved to be a highly competitive regular season in the Boston City League, New Mission High School squared off against East Boston High School in the 2014 Boston City League Championship.  New Mission controlled the game from the opening minutes, running away from East Boston to capture the schools first boys Boston City League Championship 73-54.  Franklin Pierce commit Asante Sandiford took home MVP honors, while leading all scorers with 21 points.  Senior Shaquan Murray finished with 19 points on his way to surpassing 1,000 points for his career, earning All-Tournament Team honors.  Senior forward Fred “Bam” Rivers was also named to the All-Tournament Team.  East Boston was led by junior guard Dion Knight with 18 points, who was selected to the All-Tournament Team.  Khalil Newson of Dorchester Academy and Javon Kittrell of Snowden International School were also selected to the All-Tournament Team.  HEA alumni Charles Mitchell and Charlie Mitchell have been contributing members of the New Mission High School team all year.
