NIKE 2013 EYBL SESSION #3: TX RECAP

As the Nike 2013 EYBL season moves closer to The Peach Jam, teams traveled to Dallas, TX this past weekend to compete in Session 3 of The Circuit.  Among those teams were New England’s own Expressions Elite and BABC.  Both teams headed into division play undermanned, but nevertheless, sitting amongst the leaders of the highly competitive Division C.

Lets take a look at how each of our alumni and their teams played over the weekend.

Chris Baldwin – 6’8″, Forward, Expressions Elite – Baldwin saw action in all 4 games for his Expressions Elite squad.  Baldwin’s two best game statistically came against Texas Pro, where he went 3 for 4 from the field, finishing with 6 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 blocked shot.  Baldwin went 4-8 from the field, finishing with 9 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 blocked shot in 17 minutes of action against Albany City Rocks to close out Session 3.  Baldwin held his own in what was his first full-time action with the 17U squad.  Look for his playing time and efficiency to increase throughout the rest of the Nike EYBL season.  Expression Elite closed out Session 3 with a 2-2 record (11-2 overall), and in 3rd place in Division C.

Terance Mann – 6’5″, Guard, BABC – Mann had another productive weekend in his debut season in the Nike EYBL, earning a start in each of BABC’s 4 games.  Mann had his best statistical game against the #1 team in the country in Team Takeover.  Mann finished with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals in a losing effort.  Mann also came up clutch against Team Scan, scoring a late bucket to BABC up momentarily before the game eventually went into overtime.  BABC finished with a 1-3 record (9-4 overall) for Session 3, and in 4th place in Division C.

Bruce Brown – 6’4″, Guard, BABC – The new Vermont Academy Wildcat and member of the class of 2016, Brown saw action in 3 out of the 4 games BABC played over the weekend.  Brown saw his most significant minutes coming against Meanstreets, where he finished with 2 points, 1 rebound, and 2 steals.  Brown continues to gain valuable experience playing against some of the top competition in the country.
